How to Get Started

Typically, new clients contact us because they need help with a project, or they have recently lost (or fired) a member of their IT department and they are exploring outsourcing.  We start by answering any questions by phone or email and, if there is a potential fit, we schedule a face-to-face meeting.  We try to make the meeting quick.  We don't waste your time with a long-winded sales presentation; in fact we don’t employ a single salesperson so you'll be meeting with someone who actually knows what they are talking about!  We like to do a no-cost IT audit after the meeting if there is still a potential for working together. We realize switching your IT provider is not like switching your toothpaste -- we have to earn your trust so you can be confident that your critical IT systems are in good hands with us. That's why we think the no-cost IT audit is such a great first step.  It is quick, discreet (your current employee/provider doesn't have to know we were there), and you get a detailed, customized report the next day.  The report measures your network against our 50+ "best practices" that we have developed as part of managing hundreds of small business networks like yours.   You get a valuable second opinion on your network and we get a chance to demonstrate our expertise and professionalism. During the audit we cover the following areas:

  • Hardware – Warranty status for servers, disk redundancy, age/condition of equipment
  • Email – Spam defenses, redundancy, remote access
  • Backup/Disaster Recovery – What is backed up, how often, and where is it stored
  • Server Configuration – Comparison with our "Best Practices" for configuring servers
  • Performance – Review of potential performance bottlenecks
  • Security – Firewalls, Active Directory permissions, Anti-virus/malware protection

In cases where the current IT support person or company is being fired, we take extra care to plan a smooth transition.  We have made dozens of transitions under less than amicable circumstances over the years so we know the necessary precautions that must be taken.

During the first few months we invest a lot of time and effort up front to implement our "Best Practices" to improve your IT infrastructure.  We introduce ourselves to your employees and learn the particulars of your business.  The ultimate goal is to earn your trust and become a fully integrated part of your organization.
